Son pays tribute to 'hero' father found dead at home

The son of a 56-year-old whose death sparked a murder inquiry has described him as a "hero".

Paul Knowles, known as "Knobby", was found dead at his home in Farriers Court in the Orton Longueville area of Peterborough, on Sunday.

Mr Knowles's son Nathan Naylor said his father was a "pure soul" and was a loving father, brother and son.

Anne-Marie Burrowes, 52, of Ellindon, in the Bretton area of the city, has been charged with his murder.

In a tribute, Mr Naylor said: "My dad was my hero.

"He spent 22 years and one day in the Royal Navy, fought in the Falklands conflict and the first Gulf War.

"He was loved by many. Fair winds and calm seas."

Ms Burrowes was remanded into custody at Huntingdon Magistrates' Court on Thursday and is due to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on Monday.
